Starlight Ranch Mobile Home Owners Association
Minutes of Town Hall Meeting
January 16, 2016
A Town Hall meeting of the Starlight Ranch HOA membership and residents was held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the front clubhouse. President Delong opened the meeting at 11:05 AM and thanked everyone for coming out; all present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Role call was taken; all board members were present.
President DeLong opened the meeting stating that this was going to be a different meeting format. This meeting is for the residents to voice their concerns. President DeLong again stated to the community how important it is to have a paper trail. Complete the complaint form and have it signed and copied for your records. This will help in the fight for a change in management dealing with the community.
President Delong stated why the current board is working with to MH Action Group in helping senior communities fight the big corporations who want to push us out of our homes. He introduced MH Action’s Leadership Team who was present. (Richard, Terry, Connie, Carmen, Shandra and Kevin)
Shandra BP-Weeks gave a presentation on the S. 2251 bill in the House of Representatives currently. If this bill is passed it will provide a one-time payment to seniors and disabled Social Security beneficiaries, veterans, railroad retirees and persons receiving SSI. These individuals would receive $581 in 2016. Shandra explained to the residents they need to call their state senators and encourage them to support the bill in order for it to be passed.
The floor was opened for questions and concerns from the residents present.
Ø ELS staff working and concentrating with cleaning rental prosperities, not maintaining Starlight
Ranch property, clubhouses and the landscaping.
Ø Miriam R. was angry about the bad water situation and how management is not doing enough to fix the problem.
Ø Joan S. asked how many members we have and what our goal is. ( we have 96 members, with a goal of 250)
Ø Donna R. asked if renters pay sewer. Answer from office is yes they do same as everyone.
Ø Carmen V. stated lack of enforcement of rules and communication by manager.
Ø Not everyone receives the ro-bo call regarding the water shut off. Why can’t the office put written notices around like they use to?
Ø Ducks and stray cats are out of control. (Please tell whom ever you see feeding these animals not to feed them it is creating a health hazard and a nuisance).
Again President Delong stated we all need to get involved with a paper trail of complaints. The Board of
Directors is aware of these problems and is trying to work through them.
Vice President Rodriguez asked the community to let the HOA board know if they think they live next to a renter. Let the board know the address, we are trying to get a count of how many rental homes are in the community.
President DeLong thanked everyone for showing interest in their community and coming out to support the HOA Board and to be informed about the community.
Motion was made by Secretary Rivera to adjourn the meeting, seconded for approval. All in favor, motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 12:29 PM.
